The furnished White Oak II model home at Timberlake Homes’ Meadows at Chestnut Ridge neighborhood was honored with the Best Interior Merchandising award for a single family home in the $300,000-$349,999 category. The award was presented at the Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Delaware’s 15th Annual Regal Awards dinner ceremony on Thursday, March 15. Recipients of the prestigious Regal Awards are homebuilders and associates who have achieved excellence in the new home sales industry for product and sales during the 2006 calendar year.

According to Steve Lefebvre, executive vice-president of HBA/DE, the spirit of competition generates excitement for the Regal Awards year after year. "The intent of people in our industry is to constantly improve and reinvent the product," he says. "We like to respond to changes in the ways people like to live. And when we create or build something to a new standard, we like to show it off." The distinguished panel of judges, all from nearby states, included builders, an architect and several sales and marketing experts.

Timberlake Homes employed the services of Powers Smith Interiors of Annapolis, MD to merchandise the model. Under the direction of designer Sandy Abernathy, the home’s theme was created and all selections (flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting fixtures, paint colors), furnishings and accessories for this three-story model home were chosen and installed in time for the model Grand Opening in September 2006. The home features 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a formal living room, dining room, study, kitchen with breakfast area, family room, sunroom and a finished lower level complete with an additional full bath. Though there is a common, peaceful, soothing theme throughout the home, each room is uniquely designed and decorated.
